Pete Ciarrocchi's Signature Dish at the Center of Inspirational Story

Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/19/2017 -- A batch of Pete Ciarrocchi's famous Crabfries® recently found themselves at the center of one of this summer's most inspirational stories thanks to former Philadelphia Eagle Vince Papale and pro football hopeful RaShaun Sligh. Read more about it here and visit Chickie's & Pete's Crab House and Sports Bar online to find the nearest place to get Pete Ciarrocchi's most famous dish.

Philadelphia sports talk has been swept up in what fans have come to expect during this time of year, given the pattern of the last few: The Phillies' struggles, rebuilding the Eagles, the Soul's dominance, and the Sixers' bright future. This year feels a bit different, though, because things seem to be looking up for each of the city's major sports franchises, and one young man is doing everything he can to be a part of it.

RaShaun Sligh is the 24-year-old football player fans may have heard of by now: He's been camped out in front of the NovaCare Complex with a sign that reads "RaShaun Sligh Just Wants an Opportunity to be an Eagle."

Vince Papale, whose famous story became the film "Invincible," related personally to Sligh's story. To show his appreciation and offer encouragement, Papale brought Sligh a cheesesteak and Crabfries®.

Pete Ciarrocchi and his team at the Philadelphia Soul admired Sligh's efforts so much so that they granted him a tryout with the reigning Arena Football League champions.

"We're always happy to help someone realize their dreams," Pete Ciarrocchi said.

"I think what he's doing is great," Pete Ciarrocchi continued. "Me, my family, and my colleagues all admire his determination and spirit," he added.
