Los Angelas, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/15/2013 -- Ulta Salon Cosmetics & Fragrance Inc. (NASDAQ:ULTA) shares dropped 12.63 percent to $75.74. ULTA reported adjusted EPS income of $1.00 per share and revenues of $758.8 million, beating the mean analysts' estimate of EPS of $0.98 per share and $752.27 million revenues respectively. The beauty retailer forecast first quarter revenue and earnings below analysts' estimate. For the first quarter, Ulta Salon expects earnings of $0.60 to $0.63 per share on sales of $568 million to $577 million against analysts’ estimate of earnings of $0.72 per share on sales of $579.66 million. The company stock has a 52-week trading average of $78.87-$103.52 and a market capitalization of $5.64 billion.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. (NYSE:KKD)'s fiscal fourth-quarter profit fell 97% from a year ago, when the doughnut chain posted a substantial gain related to income taxes. Revenue and same-store sales showed continued improvement in the results released Thursday. However, shares fell 7.83% to $13.78, after the company missed adjusted earnings expectations.

VirnetX Holding Corporation (NYSEAMEX:VHC) declared that, on March 14, 2013, a Jury in the Eastern District of Texas determined that asserted claims of VirnetX’s ’504, ’211, and ’135 patents are valid over prior art asserted by Cisco. The Court in this case granted a judgment as a matter of law (JMOL) that Cisco failed to prove that VirnetX’s ’759 patent was invalid. Shares plunged -13.13% to 22.37 with the total traded volume of 9.82 million shares. VCH has a market cap of 1.32 billion.
