A three-story facility, the school holds up to 400 high school students in pursuit of healthcare-related careers, providing specialized health science programs and healthcare-related internships. The educational program, which initially began in 2008, operated until completion at a separate location at 4100 N. Roxboro Road in Durham. Built adjacent to Durham Regional Hospital, the program was a collaboration funded from a bond referendum and program supported by Durham Public Schools, Duke University, Durham Technical Community College, North Carolina Central University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
