Denver Based Cannabis Networking Organization is joining forces with OC NORML
Santa Ana, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/07/2015 -- The Long Beach Chapter of Women Grow (soon to be Orange County Chapter of Women Grow) will host their first meeting of 2015 at the Orange County offices of NORML on January 8th. With Long Beach's current ban on dispensaries, it was only natural that Women Grow join forces with OC NORML. "Long Beach and Santa Ana are intrinsically linked," said Barbie Sommars, the OC Chapter Co Chair and President of Faerie Jane, who grew up in Orange County herself. "Both cities have emerged as authentic centers for creativity and entrepreneurialism because of their unique diversity, history and strong sense of community." In February, Cheryl Shuman, known as Martha Stewart of Marijuana and founder of the Beverly Hills Cannabis Club, launches the Los Angeles chapter of Women Grow, bringing the count up to four chapters here in California, including Berkeley, San Diego and Orange County. These ladies are experiencing rapid growth as the word of Women Grow spreads across the nation and with the founding members sweeping the Cannabis Industry Awards in Denver, Women Grow is expected to launch in 10 more major cities this month. "Women's role in the emerging cannabis business community is essential and OC NORML is proud to welcome the Women Grow organization to Orange County and look forward to our work together." states, Kandice Hawes, Chapter Director of OC NORML.
The Women Grow Network, first founded in Denver, Colorado in August of 2014, is opening the doors for Women in the Cannabis Industry. The now international organization of Women Grow is dedicated to educating and supporting business professionals in the Marijuana Industry and hopes to redefine the way Cannabis is viewed in mainstream society. "If we are going to really end the prohibition of Marijuana, we need to move past those images of bikini clad babes with bongs so closely associated with the use of Cannabis" said Frances Schauwecker, the OC Chapter Co Chair. "The Women Grow organization brings business professionals together to truly aid in legitimizing the industry. "Now is the time to come out of the cannabis closet and work to shift the focus to the countless other benefits of this magical plant". Women Grow not only connects, educates and empowers, but will be an integral part of legislation, meeting with members of congress on the hill, during lobby days in February.
During Women Grow's first Thursday of the month networking events, aspiring entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to connect with power players already established in the cannabis industry and will leave with a network of like minded women and men, to help support their journey. This month, Orange County will meet Annmarie Rung of Goodnight Moon Yoga. Cannabis advocate, nutritional coach and mother to an autistic son. Annmarie will ignite your New Year's resolutions by inspiring you to, "Create a New You with Cannabis". Annmarie is the creator of Cannabliss Yoga and is a shining example of how following your passions can lead to success in life and in business. The February edition of the OC Chapter of Women Grow will feature Evan Senn, Editor of Culture Magazine. If you are curious about entering into or learning how to incorporate your current business into this budding industry, this event is for you.
