Apple May Soon Add Projector to iPhone

The idea of an iPhone with a projector was first discussed by Apple in 2009.

Noida, Delhi -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/18/2011 -- Apple is reportedly looking at the possibility of adding projectors into its iPhones and iPads. According to a blog, Patently Apple, the company has filed for a patent to integrate Pico like projectors in its iOS devices. The level of detail reported in the patent filing is surprising, as Apple looks to have sufficiently advanced on the project, including advanced gestures that would work, or be recognised, in dark rooms.

The company says the PC, tablet or a smartphone screen may be too small to share work or presentations among workmates, and this patent would help them solve that problem.

The summary says, "Two or more projected displays, each from a separate electronic device, may be displayed proximate or adjacent to one another to produce the shared projected workspace. Images displayed within the shared workspace may be transferred and/or copied to another projected display within the shared workspace."

The idea of projector in an iPhone was first discussed by Apple in 2009. Apple, in the patent file, stated that it is more concerned about the actual world uses of the projector in the iPhone or iPad so the pico projector goes on to become an important part of the entire ecosystem created by it.
