The new tool, called an IDX, will allow anyone to search the Phoenix MLS the same way that a licensed real estate agent could.

Cheryl Daly, owner of Phoenix Golf Homes, realized that there are more and more people using the Internet to start their home searches, regardless of age. “I work in a number of active-adult communities and I was initially surprised at the number of calls and emails I received from out of state buyers that were over the age of 55 that found me on the Internet. The IDX will update every 15 minutes to keep all the listing information up-to-date with the Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service (ARMLS). The Phoenix MLS can be used to search via a map search to look at the listings relative to roads, major highways, or even how close they are to work. Using a satellite overhead image, a client is able to view the landscape and other properties near the subject property.

Clients can also choose to do a custom search and narrow down the results by selecting such criteria as school district, price range, square footage, and even if the properties selected are either foreclosures or short sales.
