Scotts Valley, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/10/2012 -- Scotts Valley—Marcy McQuillian’s dream has come true. The Nitless Noggins Treatment Center on 4200 Scotts Valley Drive in Scotts Valley is finally open.

It might not have been McQuillian’s dream to be in the business of head lice removal, but she did have a dream of owning a business that helped the community. To celebrate the opening, Nitless Noggins is offering free head checks the 14th and 15th of April, from 9 am to 3 pm.

“There’s such a need for this. The more I learned about head lice, the more I knew I wanted to help. When I learned about the LouseBuster device, that’s when Nitless Noggins finally became a reality.”

McQuillian is a trained operator of the new FDA-cleared LouseBuster device which kills lice and their eggs in one treatment.

“It works by dehydrating the lice and the nits. It’s safe, chemical free, and it’s fast. It’s every parents dream to finally have this medical device available,” says McQuillian.

Until the opening of the center, McQuillian had a mobile business. She would treat those dealing with head lice in their own homes.

“Now clients can come to me, and I can treat more people in a day since I won’t need to always travel,” explains McQuillian.

She plans to make sure that those who can’t travel will still have the opportunity to be treated by the LouseBuster. She also grateful to HSA and certain insurance companies that cover treatment costs.

“I don’t want anyone to go through what I went through when my girls were younger. The anxiety, the stigma, the chemicals, the missed days of class and work—it just doesn’t need to be that way.”

McQuillian has been treating clients since January in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Santa Clara Counties, and her business is only growing.

“Medications aren’t doing the job anymore. You need a trained professional. And I use a device backed by science,” says McQuillian.
