Dubai, UAE -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/02/2012 -- 19th – 21st April 2012 – Western International College (WINC) had a successful showing at GETEX 2012 what with the unprecedented interest reposed by parents & students visiting with the WINC stall at GETEX.

We would like to thank all visitors who met with representatives at our stall. It was heartening to see renewed interest from students & parents desirous of confirming early admissions for programmes in Business, Accountancy, mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering & the post graduates programmes MBA, M.Sc It & M.Sc Supply Chain Management.

Unlike previous years students were interested in securing a place at the earliest and this led to several students making applications and confirming admissions as part of the early admissions scheme.

WINC has pioneered a Student Ambassador programme which rewards existing students at WINC for disseminating information on various programmes and promoting interest towards several of WINC’s programmes.

The Student Ambassador programme will see students providing positive referrals would be rewarded with both scholarships & other rewards in terms of the latest electronic gadgets/ PDA’s.

Western International College (WINC) stall at GETEX was manned primarily by students & staff. The students themselves attired in WINC colours turned out in large numbers and were seen advising students & parents on the programme offerings whilst providing positive reinforcement on why WINC is the right choice for those seeking quality British education.

Marketing Manager, Conal Doherty, said: “ we were kept on our toes right through GETEX and it is good to see increasing demand being placed by both students & parents on quality British education offered at WINC’. In addition to our excellence in teaching and learning, we at WINC are not only able to offer the best of British Education but we are also able to offer a wide range of scholarships and funding possibilities, which in turn looks at offering prestigious scholarships to enable talented students to engage in study options available here at WINC RAK Campus” added Conal.

The Dean of Academic Affairs & Development, Dr. Tony Aucterlounie, said: “while we have limited places on each of our degree programmes preliminary interest seem to indicate that we may have to open further places/ divisions on our engineering programmes to accommodate the needs of the prospective students. We have encouraged students to avail of our Early Admissions scheme and ensure that they secure a place at the earliest in order to avoid disappointment’

The Director of Administration at WINC, Raj Nambiar said ‘we expect to see an increase in admissions by 100 % through the forthcoming academic year 2012-13 as we have seen an increase in the number of inquiries for our MBA, Engineering & Edexcel programmes in Engineering , Business & Computing. This is primiarly due to the fact that more & more students are choosing to exercise the option of completing Year 1 & 2 at the RAK Campus and then transfer. Students we feel are making the right decision due to the fact that WINC offers high quality British degree programmes which remain affordable and competitive when compared to other providers in the UAE. On offer also are several merit based scholarships for high achievers & women students seeking careers in engineering’ added Raj Nambiar.
