Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKAM) shares dropped 17% to $34.56 after the company yesterday posted fourth-quarter GAAP net income of $68.3 million, or $0.38 per share, compared to GAAP net income of $60.1 million, or $0.33 per share in the year ago quarter. The company generated normalized net income of $98.1 million, or $0.54 per share, in the fourth quarter of 2012. Analysts expected the company to report earnings of $0.50 per share.
