(NYSE:WSM) posted a 9% jump in its fourth-quarter net income surpassing market expectation at West Elm brand.Shares fell by 34 cents or 0.75% to close at $45.21 on Tuesday and in the pre-market session it took a surge by $2.29 or 5.07% to $47.50 following the news of appraisal in its quarterly dividend by 41%.For the quarter ended the company earned $133.7 million, or $1.34 per share compared to net income of $122.6 million, or $1.17 per share, the prior year.
Total revenue was up by 11% to $1.41 billion.FactSet analysts were predicting earnings of $1.29 per share on revenue of $1.4 billion.Dividends were raised to 31 cents payable May 24 to shareholders of record April 26. Further the company plans to repurchase $750 million of its stock over the next three years.
