Hong Kong -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/28/2013 -- Relative newcomers to the bitcoin market place, Phoenix Technologies have just announced news on their second generation ASIC chips. The new breed of 28nm chip clocks in at an easy 250GH/s and a power consumption of 0.65w per GH, this is the breakthrough they have been waiting for. In past models power consumption for them has been their biggest hurdle.
Alongside the news of the new chips hashing rate they are also introducing a new nanoflow™ water cooling system to cope with the new power and heat output. The chips have gone to immediate production with unprecedented pricing being attached to these units. The new chips will go into their current chassis because of Phoenix Technologies modular design allowing swap-able boards and components. With the increase efficiency and reduced size of the power pack, these developments have provided additional spacing capacity for their X series.
The new technology has broken the $3USD per GH mark and with their record delivery time of mid-November the return on investment on this series of bitcoin mining hardware will be extremely hard to compete with.
Company CEO Jin Li explained, “We believe that our second generation of products will be hugely popular and will help us cement our place in the bitcoin mining industry. We are already working on the third generation of products which we hope will be ready for early 2014. Our aim is to keep on top of the increasing level of difficulty at prices that guarantee a healthy return on investment for our customers.”
