SUBWAY Restaurants’ Boston Market Named National Market of the Year

Boston Market Recognized For Achievements In Sales And Operations

Boston, MA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/07/2011 -- SUBWAY® restaurants (http://www.subway.com) has announced that the local Boston market has been named National Market of the Year at the annual SUBWAY® Team Operations Marketing & Planning (STOMP) Summit, a three-day conference which took place Feb. 12-14 in Miami.

The award recognizes the Boston market’s accomplishments in the areas of sales, traffic increase, customer experience and operations. Consisting of approximately 200 stores, all locally-owned and operated, this particular market has made immense progress over the past few years, including double-digit gains in sales and customer traffic annually. These increases in the bottom line are a direct result of vast improvements in the fields of customer experience and satisfaction.

Along with the operational improvements, the Boston SUBWAY® Franchisee Advertising Fund (SFAF) and Development Agents have sponsored and been active participants of the annual American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Walk through the city since 2008. To help promote the cause, the local market has enlisted the help of nationally recognized SUBWAY® spokesperson, Jared Fogle. Fogle participates in the Heart Walk and visits area elementary schools to speak with students about healthy lifestyles, and the risks associated with obesity. He is scheduled to attend the 2011 AHA Heart Walk planned for Saturday, Sept. 10.
