Virus Bulletin’s approach is unique in that it carries out independent comparative testing of anti-virus products, does not allow re-testing and reports performances exactly as they are found. In its reviews, Virus Bulletin looks at a product’s scanning speeds, RAM and CPU consumption, impact on standard activities and detection rates.

Virus Bulletin’s April 2011 comparative review looked at how antivirus programs detected malware on the Windows XP SP3 platform. For this VB100 test bench, the lab team tested 69 products including G Data Antivirus 2011.
