Scalada Holdings Develops Processing Centers That Remediate, Recycle and Reuse Waste Water Streams

Singapore -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/07/2012 -- Scalada's proprietary technology is the culmination of decades of the combined, extensive experience of Scalada’s assembled group of experts in engineering, material building, manufacturing, and contamination elimination. The technology and equipment package they have assembled has been re-engineered and scaled from its original off-shore uses to meet the needs of onshore remediation of flowback waters.

According to a study by Argonne National Laboratory (operated by the University of Chicago for the Department of Energy), at least 9 billion liters of contaminated water are produced daily by the country’s oil and gas wells. Water contamination from fracking in the United States is something that modern society will have to address to help move the country towards energy independence.

Brine, fracking fluid and other waste are just a few of the contaminants in flowback water that can be quite difficult to remove from the water. They are insoluble and remain on the surface of the water can poison the wildlife that lives on the surface of the water, which subsequently affects the rest of the eco-system.

New technologies from Scalada Holdings and its subsidiaries, Titan Holdings and Cherokee Holdings, continue to be developed to solve the problems faced by fracking companies in improving contaminated water remediation. Soon, these water treatment and remediation plants, which are extremely energy efficient, will replace the older plants that fail to maximize their ability to recycle water and to reduce their carbon imprint.
