Merseyside, Manchester -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/14/2013 -- Social landlord Riverside is calling on its tenants to sign up to take part in the government's newest flagship energy efficiency scheme the Green Deal.
According to the organisation, the landlord has given its permission for those residing in its home to seek government funding to boost the sustainability of their property, reducing their annual bills in the process.
Riverside's project manager Howard Garde said: "We want to make sure that our tenants who sign up for the Green Deal are getting the best financial offer and are using contractors who are properly qualified to carry out improvements on our properties."
Richard Lambert, chief executive officer of the National Landlords Association, also recently highlighted the positive impact the Green Deal could have for both landlords and tenants in the coming years.
He argued the initiative is a "win-win", as tenants can enjoy lower bills and landlords can carry out essential efficiency improvements using government funding.
