This campaign is about a hard cover children's book with his ‘Sliderties™ Instructional Shoelace Tying System’ included inside to teach children how to tie their shoelaces.
El Cerrito, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/23/2013 -- Sliderties is an instructional shoelace tying system that focuses on the best ways that children learn new developmental tasks; a mnemonic device in the form of the Sliderties Rhyme™, color-coded tactile markers called “sliders” and visual-motor integration. But to kids, learning to tie their shoelaces with Sliderties is just fun and easy. Sliderties is not just about helping kids learn to tie their shoelaces. It’s so much more... Like building their confidence and self-esteem and helping them take another important step toward their own independence.
Sliderties is a fully operational online business. Tarrus Johnson has a patent pending, a trademark and a copyrighted Sliderties Rhyme. He has secured manufacturing and started with an initial 2,500 units- with most of those units having been sold or donated. His ultimate goal for Sliderties is to make this system ‘the standard’ for early childhood developmental centers, elementary schools, programs working with developmentally challenged children, and parents teaching their children at home, all over the country. Initial results have been remarkable- with many children learning to tie their shoelaces within 30 minutes or less! Moreover, Sliderties has proven to be really successful in helping children with special needs learn to tie their shoelaces; like those with Autism.
Tarrus is currently in the process of developing an accompanying children’s book entitled “DJ Learns to Tie His Shoes”. The concept is to provide a hard cover book with a “cutout window” to insert an included Sliderties system. After parent and child have read the story about how DJ learned to tie his shoes—with step-by-step illustrations that correspond with how the system works—parent and child detach the included system and learn to tie their shoes just as DJ did in the story.
Tarrus needs funds to commission a graphic illustrator to complete the artwork required to finish the book and to buy more (as many as possible) Sliderties units needed to be inserted/included in the book. His cost is .97 per unit with a minimum order requirement of 7,500 units. The price per unit is cheaper when he orders larger quantities.
This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: September 12, 2013 - November 11, 2013 (11:59pm PT).
