Southwestern College Undergoes Rebranding and in the Process Highlights the Soul of the Graduate Level Counseling and Art-Therapy Institution
Santa FE, NM -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/10/2012 -- When students are searching for the place where they will take their next educational step in counseling or art-therapy, many names show up repeatedly at the top of lists of graduate schools. Institutions such as Naropa, CIIS, Marylhurst and Pacifica appear on almost every list; so does Southwestern College, located in Santa Fe, NM.
While being a highly rated institution is already quite an achievement, the administration feels that by highlighting the unique aspects of the school they can stand out from other colleges and universities. This is why Southwestern College has hired Santa Fe firm Propeller Communications to help them undergo a rebranding process that will showcase the experiential curriculum and holistic atmosphere.
One area in which the school feels it shines is the level of support it receives from many nationally and internationally renowned thought, spiritual and educational leaders. Spiritually-informed educators have held classes, seminars or given presentations at Southwestern College, while the Board of Advisors reads like a who’s-who of the Art-Therapy and Counseling worlds.
“Our Board of Advisors includes many nationally and internationally recognized leaders who find our mission and experiential curriculum important enough to support through their advisorship. To have such advisors as Lewis Mehl-Madrona, Sandra Ingerman, Cathy Malchiodi, Sequoyah Trueblood, Gretchen M. Miller, Fiona Chang and Judy Weiser at our small graduate institution is a great honor and a testimonial to the importance of the college and its mission in these transformational times.”
Southwestern College is transforming their branding, knowing that incorporating these and other strengths will fuel the long term success of the campaign. The school aims to attract the students today that will become the thought leaders of future generations. They are doing this by showcasing the breadth of knowledge students can gain by learning from past and present thought leaders, studying in a holistic environment and doing work that expands their own self-awareness.
Southwestern College is a Graduate-level institution focusing on counseling and art therapy. Students undergo advanced academic coursework that follows national standards for the Counseling and Art Therapy professions, all while being immersed in a holistic healing environment and benefitting from small class sizes. Studies range from the transformational to the clinical, and students are exposed to hands on work in their field while also doing deeply self-reflective work, such as vision quests, to increase their self-awareness.
Now in its 33rd year, Southwestern College’s mission is “Transforming Consciousness though Education”. Southwestern is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the American Art Therapy Association (AATA).
