SUPERVALU INC.(NYSE:SVU) shares decreased 0.57% to $7.03. The company on Oct. 17 reported a second-quarter profit, compared with a year-earlier loss, as operating costs fell. Net income was $40 million, or 15 cents per share, in the quarter ended Sept. 7, compared with a loss of $111 million, or 52 cents per share, in the same quarter last year. Sales rose 0.2 percent to $3.95 billion. Selling and administrative expenses fell 14 percent to $465 million.

Rovi Corporation (NASDAQ:ROVI) shares fell 11.68% to $16.75 in the last trading session. The company on Oct. 31 posted a third-quarter profit and revenue decline greater than Wall Street forecasts as it failed to close some major deals. It slashed its outlook and announced a strategic review of its DivX video player business. The net loss in the three months through Sept. 30 shrank to $11.5 million, or 12 cents per share, from a net loss of $13.3 million, or 13 cents per share, a year ago. Adjusted earnings came to 41 cents per share, below the 48 cents expected by analysts polled by FactSet. Revenue fell 13 percent to $143 million from $163.7 million. That was also worse than the $152 million analysts were looking for.

TriQuint Semiconductor (NASDAQ:TQNT) shares increased 0.96% to $7.92. The company on Oct. 29 has issued a response to the letter received from Starboard Value LP dated October 29th, 2013.
Additionally, the company on Oct. 23 company said that revenue from mobile devices and defense markets improved for the period but fell for its network markets. The company earned $13.6 million, or 8 cents per share, for the quarter that ended Sept. 28. That is compared with a loss of $11.2 million, or 7 cents per share, in the same quarter last year. It earned 16 cents per on an adjusted result versus earnings of 2 cents per share last year. Triquint's revenue jumped to $250.8 million from $200.8 million. Analysts were anticipating adjusted earnings of 10 cents per share on revenue of $250.1 million.
