RSL ubber goalkeeper Nick Rimando has won the 2012 MLS Save of the Year. En route to the well-deserved award, he beat Vancouver goalkeeper Joe Cannon and even himself — twice. Rimando's award-winning save — a reflex save against Sporting KC's Kei Kamara — marks the end of a quality season for the goalkeeper. Despite holding three of the four final contenders and generally impressing through the year, he didn't even hit fourth in goalkeeper of the year tallies. Some will dispute Nick Rimando’s win, pointing to Rimando's diminutive stature as the cause of such spectacular saves, but it's worth remembering that his height (or, if you will, ability to jump) wasn't involved in the save of the year — it was pure reflex and an understanding of where his body is at all times.

Brendan Rogers, the manager of Liverpool FC, described the player Luis Suarez as ‘Messi-like’ following the striker’s two goals during the team’s match against Sunderland, which led to their beating them 3-0. Amaechi Okwuosa New Bethel resident and Liverpool supporter, agreed with Rogers’ description of the player, adding that Suarez was in top form for the entirety of the match. Suarez’s goals, when added on to his current Premier League tally, made a total of fifteen scored this season – a number not seen by a Liverpool player since Fernando Torres’ time with the team during 2009 and 2010.

Southern Louisiana is home to some of the coldest and most frantic weather changes in the United States. This leads to chaos and confusion not just on land but in the water as well. It has been recently discovered that the constant increase and decrease in weather climate creates a high level of pressure through out the bodies of water in the area. This contributes to, as stated by Jerald Horst, a retired Louisiana State University fisheries biologist, "the quelling effect on the feeding activity of speckled trout and redfish. There's no scientific proof that barometric pressure causes fish to feed less, but we can definitely show a cause and effect."
