The company’s Chief Executive Reed Hastings, on Feb. 25, said that the original online series “House of Cards” has so far been a success, but isn’t the center of attention for the online video streaming company’s overall business. Hastings made his comments at a Morgan Stanley investors’ conference in San Francisco.
Hastings said one of the strategic advantages Netflix has over the traditional TV networks when it comes to developing original content is that every Netflix subscriber is, essentially, using Netflix as an on-demand service, which means the company isn’t beholden to TV’s traditional practice of programming shows at specific times on specific nights.

Compania de Minas Buenaventura SA (ADR) (NYSE:BVN) shares decreased 4.16% and closed at $24.44 in the last trading session. Golden Minerals Co last month announced the sale of exploration properties in Peru for approximately $4.8 million.
