The New York Post recently reported the company was the subject of a law-enforcement probe and the target of multiple complaints filed with the Federal Trade Commission. Herbalife, which hedge fund manager Bill Ackman has said uses inflated pricing, misleading sales information and a complicated incentive structure to hide a pyramid scheme, is the subject of a law-enforcement investigation, the New York Post reported today, citing documents it received from the FTC. The Post also said the FTC provided 729 pages of complaints against the company in response to a Freedom of Information Law request.

First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLR) shares jumped 7.61% to $34.92. The company, last week, said it has acquired what will be the largest solar power project in New Mexico, the 50 megawatt Macho Springs Solar Project. The Macho Springs Solar project is being developed in Luna County, New Mexico by Element Solar Power. The project is expected to be completed in 2014, at which point it will produce enough renewable energy for over 18,000 homes while preventing 40,000 tons of carbon dioxide a year from reaching the atmosphere.

Kinross Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE:KGC) shares jumped 5.58% and closed at $8.33 in the last trading session. The company posted a fourth quarter loss of $2.99 billion, or $2.62 a share, compared with a year-earlier loss of $2.79 billion, or $2.45 a share. Adjusted per-share earnings rose to 24 cents, from 16 cents. Sales rose 29% to $1.19 billion. Analysts were expecting per-share earnings of 22 cents on revenue of $1.16 billion.

Zipcar Inc. (NASDAQ:ZIP) jumped up 1.19% to $17.0 in the pre-market trading hours. The company reported fourth quarter EPS of $0.07, above the analyst estimate of $0.06. Revenue for the quarter was $70.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $69.93 million.
