San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/05/2012 -- According to the EcoATM Company, the coveted iphone happens to be the smart phone most prone to damage and breaks. The company is dedicated to collecting broken devices from kiosks. They also pay cash for devices that seem almost impossible to salvage due to electrical failures or the shattering of screens.

In a study, the company claimed that Apple’s iphones had the highest collections rate with over 76%. HTC on the other hand, ranked in with 69%. Blackberries seem to keep a neutral ratio at a modest 57%. Samsung and Motorola phones came in below their meridian with 53%. So who took home the award for least broken phones in the polls? It was LG with only 44%.

The survey EcoATM conducted also included a batch of 20,283 damaged smart phones. In this test Apple’s iPhones accounted for over 37%. Blackberry was not left behind with 35% and Motorola and Samsung accounted for 12% and 8.6% of the damaged devices in that order.

Although the data speaks for itself, the company does not suggest that Apple iphones happen to be the smart phone which is easiest to break. Although iphone owners have become familiar with experiencing broken screens and cracked backings, when their precious phones take a trip to the ground, it is said that the iPhone 5 had a rather impressive drop test before it launched.
