Tampa's Rapid Refill Saves 10,000 Pounds of Electronics from Landfill

Tampa, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/07/2012 -- Rapid Refill of Tampa participated in the national November campaign “Go Green Week” by holding an electronic recycling drive.

Rapid Refill procured nearly 10,000 pounds of old electronics and raised nearly $1,000 for HARC (Hillsborough Achievement Resource Center) during the week-long benefit. Both businesses and consumers were encouraged to donate unwanted electronics including, but not limited to, printers, cell phones, game systems and computers.

Bob Giest, Rapid Refill owner stated of the electronics drive, “Overall, I was very pleased [with the results] in doing this for the first time.” A refurbished printer along with several Rapid Refill and local area business gift cards were rewarded throughout the week, and special discounts were available for participating customers.
