This campaign is about providing equal learning opportunities to children who are disadvantaged in this new technological world.
Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/19/2013 -- TCSsync is proud to announce its Kids-N-Tech campaign launching this Fall School Year. Using the TCSsync campaign, they are expecting to equip underperforming elementary schools in the L.A. County School District with 1000 new personal computers for children who cannot afford this technology. This is the goal for the school year of 2013-2014.
Over the past decade there have been numerous research studies done that indicate the impact and importance of technology in the modern learning and working environment. With the ever-expanding reach of computers, software and devices it has become abundantly clear to many scholars that advancement within today’s social and business environments require the use, understanding and application of what technology has to offer.
Contrary to the abundance of access to devices is the economic truth that lurks beneath the test scores and failed aptitude tests. Technology in schools is great but if a child lacks the ability to utilize and work on the skills taught in class, in an everyday environment, the learning curve for that child will be much different than that of someone with everyday access. Often times those scores are much lower. This is evidenced in several studies that indicate that the gap in access to technology has a direct impact on testing scores. With this disadvantage placed early in life one can only imagine the trouble a child may have through their years up until graduation.
What TCSsync is looking for is a system of equal opportunity in which children would all start with the same chances in this new technological era, no matter what their social or economic background is. Technology is already dominating the world and keeps evolving everyday. They are starting from the smallest scale by choosing the Los Angeles area, but hope to have an impact at the national level and even more.
This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: September 06, 2013 - October 06, 2013 (11:59pm PT).
