Pompano Beach, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/04/2013 -- Semiconductor giant Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) is set to roll out a range of ultra-low power Ivy Bridge processors, focused at the tablet market and with a thermal design profile of lower than 10W, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Last Vegas afterwards this month.
The ultra-less consuming power processors, coded as the Y Series, were the subject of a speculation late last year which witnessed Intel (INTC) claimed to be releasing its initial Ivy Bridge chips, or “Third-Generation Intel Core Processors,” as the firm’s branding department would have it, with a 10W TDP.

In contrast to the present minimum Ivy Bridge chip, which resides at a 17W TDP, that’s a striking figure - made more so by the fact that 10W parts were not predicted to reach until the next-generation Haswell architecture got off the ground.
