The Ban on Smoking in Bus Shelters Has Been Put Into Law in Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/06/2019 -- It's official, bus shelters throughout Philadelphia are now smoke-free. City officials plan to put signs up at all shelters around the city to let people know. Signs are already up along Market Street east of City Hall.

Gary Barbera, the owner of Barbera's on the Boulevard, recently partnered with State Representative Jared Solomon (D-PA) to keep the Boulevard safe. Barbera's "Don't Text and Drive. Slow Down Phone Down" campaign message is placed on bus shelters around the city mainly concentrating on the Roosevelt Boulevard to keep it safe.

Barbera says the new smoking ban won't affect the message of don't text and drive. Barbera recently partnered with State Rep. Jared Solomon and Northeast Towers Chick-fil-A to keep our Boulevard safe.

"Don't Text and Drive" public service awareness campaign launched on local media to begin the transformation of Roosevelt Boulevard. For residents, visitors, employees, and commuters, including those who walk, wheel, transit, bike, and drive Roosevelt Boulevard (RT. 1 / Philadelphia PA) a series of improvements to create a more inviting corridor that is safe, accessible, and reliable is long overdue according to State Representative Jared Solomon (D-PA).

The Barbera family credits their parents with instilling the Barbera Culture of Hospitality, Family Values, and Work Ethic. Their mother, Rita Barbera—known to all as "Lovely Rita"—was kind, socially conscience, and valued family and hardwork. Their father, Eugene Barbera, planted the automotive seed through his business, Palm Auto, a carwash, gas station, auto repair, and body shop center located in Fishtown before it bloomed into the sprawling area it is today. The Barbera family would work for their father as children, inspired by their father's work ethic and client satisfaction standards. Their dad said, "Hard work never hurt anyone, but aggravation sure will kill you."
