Hillary Clinton believes handbags unite women according to Pennytime.com
San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/11/2012 -- Celebrity handbags were put up for sale at an auction held at the historic Boomerang House in Sydney, Australia.
Nothing unites women quite like handbags and if you are just as passionate for handbags then this is a great opportunity for you to get some great handbags while supporting a good cause.
U.S secretary of state Hillary Clinton believes that handbags unite women.
"I think no one should make fun of anyone else’s handbag choices. I think we should be united in our support of one another. Because handbags are like a deep psychological need. It’s a desire to kind of organise and contain that which is important in your daily life. I have a philosophical view about this, and I have this Ferragamo hot-pink bag that I adore. My view was that I would carry it around only in spring, but it makes me so happy, I’m even now lugging it around in January. I mean, how can you be unhappy if you pick up a big pink bag?”
It is this type of unity that is going to bring over 200 handbag lovers together on the 3rd Annual Handbag Auction. The guests will be bidding on handbags donated from Louis Vuitton, Proenza Schouler, DVF, Balenciaga, Paco Rabanne, Salvatore Ferragamo, Stella McCartney, Phillip Lim, Marni, Bally, Bvlgari, Christian Louboutin, Mulberry, YSL, Jimmy Choo, and even more designers
The event is expected to raise a significant amount of money for the Intensive Care Unit at the Sydney Children’s Hospital. The unit specialises in looking after kids like 12-year-old Sid who was badly injured in a knee boarding accident which partially dislocated the base of his skull from his neck bones.
He has spent a long time recovering from the injury at the Intensive Care Unit and required speech therapy to learn to talk again. He also goes through physiotherapy to help him get back on his feet. Sid is now home with his family recovering very well, and has even started playing tennis again.
The auction will be open to the public with the bags donated from celebrities private collections. San
