Pompano Beach, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/04/2013 -- The US Department of Defense declared that it has granted General Electric (NYSE:GE) a $138.3 million firm-fixed-price agreement for the technical, engineering and logistical services in aid of the T700 series turbine engines.
GE had formerly got a $242 million deal from the Army in February 2012 to reconstruct and upgrade T700 and T701D turbine engines.

The T700 engine is used to control a lot of aircraft in the US Army’s armory, counting the Boeing Apache and Textron Bell SuperCobra attack helicopters, and also United Technologies’ Sikorsky Black Hawk.
The Pentagon's declaration did not identify which of these helicopters GE's (GE) work associates to; but, in September last year, it granted GE a perhaps-associated deal to do $105.2 million price of work overhauling and substituting T700 engine parts on "H-60" (Black Hawk) and "AH-1W" (SuperCobra) helicopters.

Chrysler held the top spot with a 10 percent increase in December sales. General Motors’ (NYSE:GM) sales in December were higher slightly with 4.9 percent, and second largest automobile company Ford’s sales jumped 1.9 percent.
GM’s sales prospect, which dawdled most of its rivals, were aided a bit by latest models, amid them the Buick Veran o, and the Chevrolet Spark, Sonic and Cruze. Sales of the Volt prolonged range electric sales increased 72 percent.
