Pompano Beach, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/25/2012 -- Emerald Oil Inc (NYSEAMEX:EOX) fell 6.65% to $0.831 on over 7.19 million shares. Emerald Oil Inc.'s bigger sale of about 93.8 million shares priced at a 10% discount to Monday's close as the exploration and production company raises funds to repay debt and for other purposes.

The company recently had planned to offer 82 million shares. Emerald Oil said it also plans to use some of the proceeds to fund its drilling and development expenditures, leasehold acquisitions and for general corporate purposes.

Cypress Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:CY) moved down 2.80% to $11.27. Cypress Semiconductor Corp. extended its expiration date to acquire shares of Ramtron International Corp., after only 16% of Ramtron's outstanding shares were validly tendered as of Monday afternoon.

After Cypress repeatedly bid up its offer for the fellow chipmaker, Ramtron's board last week unanimously recommended the company's shareholders tender their shares in Cypress's cash offer of $3.10 a share.

Neogen Corporation (NASDAQ:NEOG) jumped 7.45% to $42.98 on a traded volume of 116K shares. Neogen Corp.'s fiscal first-quarter earnings rose 11% as margins improved on more sales of food-safety products. For the quarter ended Aug. 31, Neogen reported a profit of $6.7 million, or 28 cents a share, up from $6 million, or 25 cents, a year earlier. Revenue jumped 8.8% to $49.7 million.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had most recently forecast earnings of 27 cents on revenue of $51 million.

New Mountain Finance Corp. (NYSE:NMFC) went down 3.12% to $14.90 on a traded volume of 2.33 million shares. The company said its four million-share offering priced at a 2.5% discount to Monday's close. Monday, New Mountain had said it had commenced the offering on behalf of its biggest shareholder, New Mountain Finance AIV Holdings Corp. The management-investment company, which had around 36.8 million shares outstanding as of Sept. 21, won't receive any proceeds from the offering.
