Army Infantry Veteran Alex Rueda is looking at opening up a Crossfit box in Bismarck, ND. All funds will go towards the start-up.
Bismarck, ND -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/25/2013 -- Alex Rueda is a veteran, a father, and a husband. He has served 4 years Active Duty Army Infantry, with a deployment to Iraq. He had 3 years National Guard time and finally one year with the Air Force Reserves. Alex has worked as a Corrections Officer for five years. He was working in the oil fields in North Dakota until they laid off a bunch of them to make room for their family and friends. It has been a year since Alex has worked even though he has filled out hundreds of job applications. He has become tired of waiting for someone to offer him a job.
With that being said, Alex is manifesting his own destiny. He sees an opportunity for himself to open a successful Crossfit Box (gym) in Bismarck, ND. Crossfit is a fast growing fitness industry. This is important to Alex because he has a passion for fitness, nutrition & Crossfit. Alex has a minor in nutrition and he is currently finishing up his 4-year degree in Kinesiology. He is highly motivated and disciplined and have the tools for success instilled in him, thanks to the military.
S.T.A.R. stands for Specifically Training Athletic Resilience. However it is more than that. Crossfit is community driven fitness, as well as developing functional strength and fitness. Alex believes in giving back to the community. Eventually he will be offering classes for veterans with PTSD at no cost to them. He will also be running the Murphy Workout-Of-The-Day (WOD), which is a fund raising event. Funds raised from the Murphy WOD will be given back to the military community
All funds raised will be used for start-up cost, such as affiliation cost, bars, bumper plates, rigs for pull-ups, rings, weight racks, chalk, white boards, rowers, flooring for the gym, lifting platforms, jump ropes, and rent.
