Huntsman Corporation (NYSE:HUN) shares gained 6.13% to $23.04. The company on Oct. 29 said third-quarter net income declined 45 percent as revenue improved on better performances from its textile effects, performance products and polyurethanes divisions. For the three months ended Sept. 30, the chemical maker earned $64 million, or 26 cents per share. That compares with $116 million, or 48 cents per share, a year earlier. Removing acquisition expenses, pension-related costs and other items, earnings were 54 cents per share. This met Wall Street's view. Revenue rose 4 percent to $2.84 billion from $2.74 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected revenue of $2.83 billion.

Genworth Financial Inc(NYSE:GNW)shares increased 1.32% to $14.57. The company on Oct. 29 said its third quarter profits more than tripled, helped by a recovery in what had been a struggling division for the insurer: its U.S. residential mortgage insurance business.
Net income rose to $108 million, or 22 cents per share. That's up from a profit of $35 million, or 7 cents a share, in the same period a year ago. Total revenues were $2.32 billion, down from $2.46 billion a year ago. Its adjusted earnings amounted to 24 cents a share in the latest quarter. Analysts expected Genworth to earn 26 cents per share on that basis on $2.41 billion in revenue.
Additionally, GNW and its wholly owned subsidiary Genworth Holdings, Inc., on Sept. 26 announced the entrance into a credit agreement that provides Genworth Holdings, Inc. with a three-year $300 million, multicurrency revolving credit facility, with a $100 million sublimit for letters of credit. The proceeds of the loans may be used for working capital and general corporate purposes.
