Women Found Locked up for 10 Years While Police Were Searching for Drugs in a House Reports Valueloc

San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/11/2012 -- Police found a 44-year-old lady who was trapped in the house of Michael Mendez while they were searching for drugs. Michael is suspected to be member of the Latin drug mafia in Paterson.

The identification of the women has still not been disclosed but the acting Sargent Brian Polite told the Associated Press that evidence showed that the woman was kept locked in the house with periodic breaks when her boyfriend Mendez was at home. The Sargent also stated that it is also expected that the longest time the women was kept without anyone letting her go could be two years or more.

During the investigation process when people form the neighbor were asked about the womean, only few of them claimed that they used to see this woman every once in a while whereas others claimed that they have never seen nor heard of any woman in Mendez’s apartment.

During the raid, Mendez was arrested and is in the custody of police, as they believed that he is a member of the famous Latin King street gang. The 42-year-old is being kept in the Passaic Jail and has been charged with variable cases, which are kidnapping, false imprisonment and some drug related charges. Along with those charges, Mendez is also believed to have also been involved in forced incursion a number of times.

It is also been revealed by police that during the search of Mendez’s apartment, they found 190 grams of marijuana, which is worth approximately $2,000, 4200 prescription pills worth $100,000, and cash of approximately $23,000.

Police have also taken the woman into their custody and now are keeping her for a complete medical assessment.
