A drug-addled writer is on a yacht trying to finish his magnum opus - a book so well penned it comes to life and tries to destroy him.
Gold Coast, Australia -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/03/2013 -- RK Musgrave is a student filmmaker at NYFA Australia. He is currently in pre-production for my final year film Locus and to bring this production to life I need some extra dollars to ensure this film is completed!
The intention with this film is to delve into numerous themes within a short space of time in a structured and coherent format while thrilling, confusing and ultimately mind-fucking the audience.
RK wants the viewer to leave having experienced terror, confusion, tension, relief, elation and empathy by spending 13 minutes with Charles Welsh.
Throughout the film he intends to play with the perceptions people have as human beings – what is real, what is not? Can they trust others? And ultimately, can they even trust themselves? Locus also delves into guilt, the feeling of being burdened by a past atrocity that one cannot change, by a weight that bears down upon them with each waking day.
This story is ultimately about one man finding it within himself to let go of this burden he has been carrying for so long ultimately asking – can one really let go of something that has grown to become a part of him/her? The mood of ‘Locus’ is a tense psychological horror film – with moments of terror, revelation and suspense. This film will be shot entirely on location aboard a 60-foot yacht that has been secured for the shoot.
This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: August 25, 2013 - September 30, 2013 (11:59pm PT).
