Content Grade Makes You See Results

What is Content Grade

The primary goal of SBWire is to provide Journalists with the best possible information so that they will be able to quickly and easily create news content related to your organization.

To further this goal, we have created the SBWire Content Grade System. This system assigns a grade to every press release distributed by SBWire. Journalists may choose to set a Content Grade threshold for press releases they receive. Press releases not meeting this threshold will not be sent to the journalists.

It is beneficial to you to make sure your press release achieves the highest Content Grade possible. This will insure that more journalists see your release and ultimately, choose to write about your organization, products or services.

What factors control Content Grade?

Is the press release newsworthy?
All too often, small companies distribute press releases mainly with the goal of getting their name out to the public quickly. In many cases, they create press releases with little newsworthy content or content which is basically an advertisement.

Journalists tend to not cover companies who choose to use such tactics. Remember, most journalists receive thousands of press releases a week. Providing them with newsworthy content is essential to your success.

Does the press release provide complete information?
It is important that Journalist be able to get the important details from your press release quickly. A journalist will expect that within the first paragraph of your press release they will be able to answer the following questions, who, what, when and when appropriate, how.

The remainder of your press release should go into detail on the subject. Providing a great deal of in a quick, easy to read format to journalists will make their job much easier.

Does the press release contact background information?
It is important to journalists that they can quickly obtain information about your organization. This is often handled by creating an "About Us" or "Boilerplate" paragraph near the end of your press release. In this paragraph provide details about your company such as the company's primary product or service, when the company was founded and where the company is located.

We suggest you include contact information such as web addresses, email addresses and if possible, telephone numbers in this paragraph. Keep in mind that any such information becomes public knowledge. Do not include information if you do not wish it to be made public.

Here is an example:
