Jim Winstead is a software programmer turned retailer, living and working in historic downtown Los Angeles. Before focusing full-time on Raw Materials, Jim worked for MySQL AB, which was subsequently acquired by Sun Microsystems and Oracle Corporation, working on the open-source MySQL database and related software. Jim created the blo.gs blog-tracking service that was acquired by Yahoo in 2005, is a member of the PHP Group, and an emeritus member of the Apache Software Foundation. Jim is a graduate of Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California.
