Fairlawn, NJ -- (SBWire) -- 06/24/2015 --Knowing how to network is invaluable in business and in life, but it is a skill that must be learned, honed, and exercised to achieve success. That means starting early, even in early teen years. The members of Bergen Networking Group understand this.

The networking group partners with local clubs, organizations and businesses. "This event help teach young people in the community how to meet and interact with people from across many walks of life. It's my hope they learn a little bit more about their career options", said Fernando Sosa, president of Bergen Networking Group.

As an effort to help teach networking skills, Bergen Networking Group, in cooperation with The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn, which organized and sponsored the event, participated in Career Day on June 16th, 2015 at Memorial Middle School. Teenagers came to learn about the multitude of different career paths that they might one day embark upon.

Topics covered included technology, law, accounting, police work, business administration, engineering, architecture, and financial planning. It also covered medicine, healthcare, aeronautics, physical therapy, theater, real estate, printing, payments, psychology, and more.

The day was a success for all parties involved, roughly 150 students, and faculty were on hand to meet local business people from The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn, members of the Bergen Networking Group, and other local businesses. Those on hand to offer expert advice included Michael Baer, Larry Bauer, Elvin Lopez, Liz Santos, Jennifer Glass, and Fernando Sosa. Students viewed a number of informative presentations and participated in multiple question and answer sessions. "Career Day is one example of how Rotary serves others, especially the younger members of our society. If we can impact one person by the Career Day, it will all be worth it" said Baer.
