Merrimack, NH -- (SBWire) -- 04/08/2014 --In the liquor industry, there isn’t a much more scarce bourbon than a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle. On the secondary market bottles can range from $200 for a 10 year old to $1,500 or more for the coveted 23 year old, but the real challenge is finding a bottle for sale. With only a limited supply, it is rare to find a bottle on the shelf. Instead, many liquor stores have a lottery system for loyal customers to win the right to buy a bottle. For most, this leaves the question: where can I find my bourbon?

In July, 2013, two entrepreneurial connoisseurs founded Bottle-Spot.com. Existing online marketplaces expressly forbade the sale of alcohol. “It occurred to me that there is a large market for vendors and collectors, and there was no place online which encompassed all of their needs. That’s our goal,” says co-founder Patrick Corcoran.

One of the distinctions of Bottle-Spot is their international approach. “If you’re looking for a rare Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch or Russell’s Reserve 6 Year Old Rye, and you’re in Topeka, Kansas, you just might find a collector from Venice with the bottle you need. That’s one of the things we’re proud of---we connect connoisseurs across the globe,” Corcoran says. Bottle-Spot is even launching a new feature to allow feedback and other anti-spam tools, making the free marketplace more secure.
