Enlightening New Book Explores Epidemic of 'Spiritual Thirst'

Written by successful author, internationally known management consultant and ordained minister, Todd L. Shuler, ‘The Well-Watered Life’ is a moving rumination on the dangers of a ‘mundane life’ and a careful examination of the physical and spiritual relationships between human beings and life’s simplest element: water.

Atlanta, GA -- (SBWire) -- 01/31/2014 --It is a common image from legend: a man, stumbling through a barren desert, aching with thirst and half-blinded by sun. Ahead, he sees something emerging from the sands. It is a desert, with lush trees and a pool of glimmering water.

This image resonates with human beings the world over. Why?

For Todd Shuler, author of the hotly anticipated new book, ‘The Well-Watered Life’, the answer is simple, yet deeply profound.

“We have all felt the bleakness that comes from thirst,” says Shuler. “My feeling is that the desert represents a spiritual thirst that many don’t know how to quench. They seek out other avenues – alcohol, cars or wealth – and yet they ignore the growing desert in their hearts.”

With ‘The Well-Watered Life’, Shuler brings his own experiences to the forefront, offering gentle guidance to any who might be struggling in their lives. As the author points out, many battle with mundane jobs, stagnant relationships, moving into adulthood or facing the loss of a loved one.

“The book is not just for Christians,” says Shuler. “It really is for anyone who feels that thirst – and they know who they are. It is for anyone who asks life’s elemental questions: Who am I? What am I? Where do I come from? Where is my life going? It is for anyone who wants to connect with the Holy Spirit and truly feel satisfied – and I mean beyond the physical. Of course food and entertainment can be lovely, but as human beings, we need something more.”

‘The Well-Watered Life’ is a singular work; a guidebook to spiritual life, a testament to the power of God’s love, and a light in the darkness for anyone who feels stranded in a desert of their own making.
