German Government Passes New Supply Chain Act

Berlin, Germany -- (SBWire) -- 02/16/2022 --In keeping with many other nations around the world, the German government has now passed a new piece of legislation that is designed to increase transparency up and down the supply chain. The Supply Chain Act (also known as the German Act on Corporate Due Diligence in Supply Chains) will come into force in January next year. Its purpose is to introduce new due diligence obligations on businesses relating to both their direct and indirect suppliers. Those obligations are designed to improve the application of environmental standards and also to help protect human rights. The act will require businesses to take steps to eliminate, or minimise, the risks that exist in their supply chains when it comes to human rights and environmental standards. The threshold for compliance is companies with as few as 1,000 employees. Some of the provisions include establishing a risk management system, implementing preventative measures and reporting annually.

The new Supply Chain Act will undoubtedly have an impact on those in supply chain jobs, in Germany and beyond. The team has a wealth of experience when it comes to supply chain jobs, as well as many other connected fields, including logistics, procurement and technical operations. Over the years DSJ Global has worked with a broad spectrum of businesses, many of which will be affected by the Supply Chain Act, from smaller enterprises through to global brands. With a database of more than a million mid-to-senior professionals, DSJ Global is perfectly placed to provide support for organisations keen to recruit for growth and resilience. And, thanks to connections with hiring managers across the sector, the firm is also a go-to for ambitious people looking to take a career-defining next step. With permanent, contract and multi-hire solutions all available, DSJ Global is able to design bespoke options when it comes to hiring needs.

From Frankfurt to Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Cologne, DSJ Global has established itself as an expert in supply chain jobs in locations all across Germany. However, this is only the beginning of the reach that the firm has, as the German team is part of a worldwide workforce that is 1,000+ strong. In addition, the firm is part of the Phaidon International group (operating across 6 countries), which makes it the recruitment partner of choice to hundreds of industry-leading enterprises. In fields such as logistics, technical operations, procurement and supply chain jobs this kind of dual nationwide and international reach is vital. Also, key is the expertise in the team, something that the firm has invested heavily in. Consultants are trained on an ongoing basis and work with best-in-class recruitment technology and strategies. There are many different roles available via the firm today, including Head of Logistics, Strategic Sourcing Manager and Strategic Buyer.

The team at DSJ Global said, "A pressure cooker year for the Supply Chain sector means 2022 could be unpredictable. One thing is for certain though, and that is the need for talent. Travel restrictions, delays on cargo flights and congested shipping lanes created a multitude of challenges that only the best of the best can solve, and therefore demand for top-tier Supply Chain talent is going nowhere.

The need for talent who have extensive experience in Strategic Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain is huge. Such demand means companies are having to resort to extreme benefits packages and high compensation to attract the talent they attain for, and therefore having a talent partner to guide them through these difficult times is invaluable.

Travel restrictions, delays on cargo flights and congested shipping lanes may have been 2021's story, but much of last year's challenges are shaping this year. As Supply Chains continue to be under the world's spotlight, the need for top-tier talent is still a pressing issue."
