Raleigh, NC -- (SBWire) -- 05/25/2016 --For every headband the organisation sells, a headband is donated to a child diagnosed with cancer. The headbands are sold in online stores and across 300 stores in USA and Canada.
Jess Ekstrom was always interested in selling something whether it was on the lemonade stands or on eBay. During her junior year of college, she worked for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. As she collaborated with young girls facing life-threatening illnesses, Jess discovered that they loved to wear headbands instead of wigs after losing their hair because of cancer. "Headbands for Hope" was founded in April 2012 by Jess Ekstorm. This organisation makes sure that for every head band they sell, a head band is donated to a child diagnosed with cancer. The foundation uses college campuses to sell Headbands of Hope. The headbands are marketed by representatives that hand out headbands to schools across the United States of America.By the month of January 2013,there were over 20 representatives promoting and publicising Headbands of Hope across the nation, and talks are also given by the founder and CEO of headbandsofhope.com Jess Ekstorm. Furthermore, the "Hope Club'' happens to be a club created by Ekstrom which grants cancer patients who have received headbands by this association to post photos of themselves along with their biographies.
The organisation strongly believes in sharing personal stories with the world about cancer survivors is what most effectually helps sell their head bands for almost everyone in the world has some connection to cancer. In addition, the foundation asks people to find more hospitals or clinics in their local areas where donations can be made by the organisation or sign up to be representatives to help the organisation at their universities or buy a headband. Additionally, for every accessory that is bought by the their supporters,a portion of the proceedings will benefit various childhood cancer organisations. Since April 2012, the http://www.headbandsofhope.com/ organisation has donated head bands to every single children's hospital in the United States of America. Headbands of Hope has also donated over $20,000 dollars since this foundation was founded in 2012. In October 2015, Headbands for Hope launched The Hope Market which is an online-only Head bands and accessory line that donates to a new childhood cancer charity every single month.Outside the United States of America, donations have extended to Canada and will continue to unravel with plans for scattering it in Peru during the summer of 2014.
