On basis of chemistry, we can classify acrylic resins into three main classes, acrylates, meth acrylates, and hybrids. Acrylates are primarily derived from methyl acrylates, ethyl acrylates, and butyl acrylates. Few other complex acrylates like 2-Ethylhexyl acrylates (2-EHA) are also part of acrylates.
Acrylic resins are thermoplastic materials produced by the polymerization of methacrylic acid esters (methacrylates) or acrylic acid esters (acrylates).
