New York, NY -- (SBWire) -- 11/06/2014 --When walking through the galleries and hallways of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Egyptian collection one can grasp the all consuming obsession this ancient civilization had with the afterlife. Could their beliefs be more than just primitive superstition? Maybe, according to two of New York's seasoned paranormal investigators.

Peter and Stew Kandel (known as Dr. Pete and Dr. Stew) noted paranormal investigators aka New York's own “Ghost Doctors” lead groups of ghost hunting fans on actual paranormal jaunts through the Met. After a crash course in the fundamentals of ghost hunting 101 which includes the use of various ghost hunting tools of the trade, their groups of excited adventurers are off and running as they seek out unusual goings-on within this iconic museum.

Recently, while investigating one of the galleries in the Egyptian wing -- like a scene lifted from a paranormal mummy thriller -- something strange happened.

“We picked up some unusual readings on our instruments while searching through an isolated gallery in the Egyptian wing. As part of our protocol we always take photos to document our investigations. So we took out one of our cameras, ready to shoot off a few pic's and then suddenly the batteries were completely drained. They were fully charged just a few minutes ago and are now...dead,” says Dr. Stew.

According to the Ghost Doctors this is phenomena that is well known throughout the paranormal community.

“During investigations power sources such as battery packs can suddenly drain for no apparent reason in areas of suspected paranormal activity,” says Dr. Pete. “That's why we're always ready for any contingency -- spare batteries, redundant instruments and especially a willingness to always be ready for the unexpected.”

So the next time you see two paranormal explorers leading groups of amateur ghost hunters through some dimly lit Egyptian gallery, don't worry about the rising of some ancient mystical mummy -- the Ghost Doctors got your back!
