Zagreb, Croatia -- (SBWire) -- 12/05/2011 --VpCI® CorrVerter® is advanced water-based converter and primer for Corrosion Protection. It is recommended for rusty or poorly prepared steel surfaces, where further corrosion protection is required, and good surface preparation is difficult to achieve. The product is formulated to penetrate and eliminate rust, and can easily be applied under varying weather conditions. It penetrates to the bare metal, and stops further rusting, providing a long-term corrosion protection.
A novel chemical chelating agent that CorrVerter® contains, modifies the surface rust into a hydrophobic passive layer, while being combined with a high solids waterborne latex, with extremely low water vapour permeability. This combination offers a unique formulation for excellent and efficient protection against re-rusting. Since the product does not contain tannic or phosphoric acids, and has a very low VOC, it is completely environmentally safe and non–toxic.
CorrVerter® also works in the presence of excess salt contamination, which makes it an excellent solution for marine applications. Primer can be top coated with solvent based and water-based paints, unlike acid-based coatings, which can only be topcoated with solvent-based paints.
