Raleigh, NC -- (SBWire) -- 02/18/2009 -- Bomani Jones, host of “The Three Hour Lunch Break” on Sports Radio 620 The Bull weekdays from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. and “Sports Saturday with Bomani Jones” on Sports Radio 850 The Buzz Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon, will be featured in the HBO documentary “Battle For Tobacco Road: Duke vs. Carolina.”

The one hour documentary examines one of the most intense rivalries in college sports. Separated by fewer than 10 miles, Duke and Carolina have combined for five national championships since 1985 and have more Final Four appearances (18) than any other entire conference in that time frame. The documentary features Hall of Fame coaches Dean Smith and Mike Krzyzewski, along with notable former Duke and Carolina players Michael Jordan, Grant Hill, Johnny Dawkins and James Worthy. The documentary will begin airing on HBO Monday, February 23rd at 9 p.m. and continue airing throughout the month of March.

Bomani was contacted by the director of the documentary, George Roy, who happened to be visiting Raleigh-Durham in the spring of 2008 when Bomani was discussing the famous rivalry on his radio show. Roy was intrigued by Bomani’s perspective and wanted to capture it on film.

“The Triangle is really the only place that I could call 'home' in my adult life,” said Jones. “So to get a chance to contribute to something tied so directly to the area was quite an honor."
