Practice Management Institute to Host Health Care Reform “Town Hall” Panel for Providers and Staff on May 20 at its National Conference for Medical Office Professionals in San Antonio

San Antonio, TX -- (SBWire) -- 05/11/2010 -- Practice Management Institute will host a Healthcare Reform “Town Hall” Panel at its national conference in San Antonio, May 20. The panel will feature representatives from the American Medical Association, The Texas Medical Association and the University of Texas Pan American. The panel will address questions from physician practice professionals about the changes that can be expected in the coming months and years to their profession due to the recent passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act.

Cyril M. Hetsko, MD

Cyril M. "Kim" Hetsko, MD, is an internist from Madison, WI, with subspecialty interests in infectious disease and laboratory medicine. He has been a member of the AMA Board of Trustees since 2003. He was elected to a second term in 2007. A clinical professor of medicine at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Hetsko is also the chief medical officer for COLA, a clinical laboratory education, consultation, and accreditation organization in Columbia, MD.

Dan Finch
Director, Legislative Affairs, Texas Medical Association
Dan Finch is Director of Legislative Affairs for the Texas Medical Association in Austin. Prior to this he served 24 years as the Associate Director and Director of Public Affairs for the Harris County Medical Society in Houston.

Mr. Ambriz has been a practicing physician assistant for over 30 years. He currently teaches Health Management, Health Policy among other courses at the UTPA PA Program. In 1994 he was appointed by Governor Ann Richards to the Texas State Board of Medical Examiner Physician Assistant Board. During his six year term with the board he was chair of the Licensing committee for physician assistants.
