Most of the stents (mainly composed of metal) are used generally for vascular interventions. The device is used primarily in endovascular surgery for patients that suffer from AAA and TAA. The technique used to treat AAA using stent grafts is known as EVAR. In this technique, stent grafts are used to support weak areas in the arteries known as an aneurysm. The stent is designed so that it can be positioned inside the abdominal aorta, without surgically opening the blood vessel or eliminating any tissue.
