Cambridge, MA -- (SBWire) -- 07/09/2015 --iMotions, the global leader in software for enabling multiple bio-sensor research, is leapfrogging ahead with the release of the iMotions 5.6 biometric research platform.

With the new features added to the biometric research software, iMotions 5.6 ushers in a new era of high-quality human behavior research by enabling researchers to expand their research possibilities. Main improvements include support for the Empatica E4 wristband GSR device, which takes GSR research mobile and into longer studies. In addition, the facial expression algorithm from Emotient has been updated to the latest version, giving significant improvements to the demanding researchers, which also include a new threshholding functionality to segment data on the fly, improve visualizations, and reduce post-collection data cleaning.

Workflow and significant performance improvements have been included, and allow researchers for an even smoother data collection process. Features for better organization of data, improved usability, faster load time, better reconnect of disconnected sensors and much more are just a few of the features included with this release.

Data quality is an ongoing challenge in collecting human behavior data. With this release, iMotions is enabling researchers to ensure data of higher quality is collected. Better visualization, improvements of QA metrics, improved insights if data points are unsuitable are all features built into the iMotions biometric platform.

Many modules of the platform have received upgrades, and additional features including eyetracking, facial expression, GSR, EEG, EMG, ECG and Survey module, all providing significant value to busy researchers.

"This release includes many important features that will elevate the potential research projects and will drive research forward in areas like medical research, user experience, and many others. It also offers a number of new features to streamline the data collection process and continue building a powerful platform in the researcher's toolbox," says Peter Hartzbech, CEO of iMotions.
