Some China Corn Products May Face Uncertain Factors in 2011

Guangzhou, Guangdong -- (SBWire) -- 02/01/2011 -- Stepping into 2011, prices of most corn products stably run at a relative high level caused by high corn price. However, the price of cornstarch has decreased all over the country in Jan. 2011, and VC price still undergoes a low level at the same time.

According to CCM’s newsletter Corn Products China News, there are two products facing unstable factors. Chinese government is likely to impose on VC industry. Export quota on VC industry can eliminate some small manufacturers and turn around current overcapacity situation to some extent. On one hand, the small manufacturers are unqualified to get export quota, especially those with inefficient technology and high pollution. Thus, these manufacturers will be driven back from the international market, and it is likely for them to get out of this industry. On the other hand, it can ease current cut-throat competition, enhancing Chinese VC pricing power. Besides, China decides to run an anti-dumping investigation into DDGS originated from the US. If the anti-dumping is applied, it may be good news for the manufacturers which produce DDGS.

In general, market of most corn products may be stable. Hereinafter, analysis will be made into this question: Will Chinese government impose VC export quota in 2011 and apply anti-dumping? And this will be forecasted in CCM’s newsletter Corn Products China News.
