Inbound tourism increased from 28.3 million in 2009 to 33.1 million in 2014, mainly driven by arrivals from France, Germany, the US, and Ireland, together accounting for 35.6% of total inbound arrivals. With different contributing factors, such as the countrys growing popularity as a wine tourism hub and a decrease in tourism tax, inbound trips are expected to increase at a CAGR of 3.3% over the forecast period.
Outbound trips witnessed moderate growth during the historic period, increasing from 56.9 million in 2009 to 59.6 million in 2014.
