About Dr. Stephen Brown
Dr. Brown graduated from Temple University’s School of Dentistry and received his specialty training in Periodontics and Adult Orthodontics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. This unique double-major concentration made Dr. Brown the first dentist in the country to specialize in both Periodontics and Adult Orthodontics. Dr. Brown is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Fellow of the American College of Dentists and The International College of Dentists, and a Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Brown is sought after as a lecturer throughout the United States and runs a state-of-the-art Periodontal and Implant Dentistry practice in Philadephia, PA. As founder of The Perio Group in 1970, Dr. Brown created a network of dental professionals that provide advanced periodontal service to the Delaware Valley. Considered a leader in the field of Periodontics, Dr. Brown is an attending Periodontist at the Albert Einstein Medical Center where he co-founded the Dental Implant Team and is the Director of the Dental Implant Center. Additionally, he is the Director of the Department of Periodontics at Graduate Hospital, and former director of Periodontics at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Having served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Dental Corps, Dr. Brown serves as a consultant to the U.S. Army Dental Corps and the U.S. Public Health Service. His articles are regularly published in professional dental journals, and he is often asked to appear as a speaker before national and international dental societies. He and his wife, Pelley, are steadfast supporters of the arts with involvement in the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Print Club of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Philadelphia Museum of Arts, and the Institute of Contemporary Art.
